Public Beta privacy summary · version 2026-09-14

What this interview practice uses—and what it does not.

This plain-language summary explains the Version 10 beta. The complete policy and contact information are published on SecGuy.org. This is not a certification of compliance.

Camera, audio, and transcription

Camera frames remain on your device. In validated Chrome and Edge configurations, browser speech is used by default and the browser vendor may process audio under its own privacy terms. Other supported browsers send a temporary audio-only recording through Sec Guy to Amazon Transcribe after you select Submit answer. The recording exists only long enough to create the transcript and is discarded immediately. No video is uploaded or recorded.

Evaluation logic

Only the transcript you review and confirm is evaluated. The server-side semantic evaluator compares the meaning and reasoning in that answer with the signed question rubric, including technical accuracy, relevance, evidence, clarity, concision, completeness, and role alignment. It receives no audio, video, camera frames, facial data, or browser credentials. If an answer review cannot be completed, you can retry it without losing your confirmed transcript. Accent, dialect, grammar, body language, emotion, personality, and perceived employability are excluded.

Retention and control

Session transcripts and pasted background context expire when the session ends unless you explicitly save a report. Saved reports are designed to expire after 30 days and support export and deletion. Legally required payment records and an immutable credit ledger may be retained separately.

Anonymous service analytics

Sec Guy uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and a first-party operational event stream to understand page traffic, demo and paid-session completion, browser categories, transcription or evaluation failures, and service latency. These records do not include learner emails, order identifiers, payment details, transcripts, résumé or job-description text, camera or audio data, or raw IP addresses. Raw first-party events expire after 30 days; anonymous aggregate counts may be retained longer to measure product reliability.

Your choices

The paid beta requires its camera, microphone, and transcription check before an interview begins. You can correct the transcript, request clarification without grading, print your report, opt in to save it for 30 days, and delete a saved report. Do not paste contact details, secrets, customer data, or other unnecessary personal information.
